A Message from Outgoing President Mick Fiocchi

Fellow Rotarians,

I want to thank you for the opportunity to serve this past year as the President of Rhinelander Rotary.  I admit I was reluctant to say yes when I was asked to serve.  Like you, I often feel over-committed.  But having served, I have to say I have absolutely no regrets.  It has been a very gratifying experience.  The Board and committee members are a great bunch of people who really make a difference in our community and beyond.

Thank you to the many members who were in attendance on July 12 as we passed the gavel to new President Pete Centner.  Past President Chris Lenard was especially helpful in my transition into my year as president and I look forwad to supporting Pete in what promises to be another eventful year for the club.  I encourage each of you to find a way to help move the club forward in this next Rotary year.

Rotary Youth Exchange

Luke Lenard and Luke Wegehaupt are now back home after very successful exchanges to South Africa and Thailand.  They both express a debt of gratitude for all that Rotary has given to them and now look forward to helping others on their exchanges.

Our new Inbound student from Mexico, Enrique, will be arriving in August and will stay with the Wegehaupts for the first third of his exchange.

The Interact Club will meet again when school starts in September.

Creative Arts Walk

Looking for a way to get involved with our Club, but not sure what to do?  Sign up to help with the Creative Arts Walk on Thursday, July 29 in downtown Rhinelander at the corner of Davenport and Brown Streets.  We're looking for people to volunteer at the Information Booth, help with children's arts and crafts, set up tents, tables, chairs, etc., sell raffle tickets, and place sandwich information boards and balloons.  It's easy, fun, and a great way to get to know eachother better.  Sign-up sheets are on the tables at our Rotary meetings or just contact Bill Kingsbury for more information.

2010 Spring Gala

Kathy Shaltis recently reported we raised $12,863 at this year's Gala.  Thanks to everyone, especially Kathy, for making this fundraiser such a fun evening and huge success.
