*********** CLUB NEWS ************
Changing of the Guard Outgoing club President Mike Werbowsky receives a recognition plaque for his year as Rhinelander Rotary Club President from new 2007-08 President Bill Kingsbury.
RYE Students Reunion Three years of Rhinelander Rotary Youth Exchange Students were together at a recent Monday Rotary Meeting. From left to right are: Ryan O'Grady - Germany, Kaitlin Estelle - Slovakia, Brittany Bonnell Poland, Club RYE Outbound Coordinator Jim Schulz, Emily Erdrich - Turkey, and Kate Zambon - Mexico
New Attendance Policy Announced Rhinelander Rotary has adopted a new policy on member attendance. To more closely comply with Rotary International's policy on membership attendance as well as our club's bylaws and constitution, Rhinelander Rotary will now require all club members to attain a 6 month attendance average of 30% of all meetings. Members not fulfilling this requirement will be advised at the end of the 6 month period that they will have to increase their attendance average to this level during the next 6 month period or their membership will be terminated. As always, make-ups at other clubs' meetings will be credited toward this requirement and allowances for special circumstances will be granted on a case by case basis.
Carla's Here!!
Our newest Inbound Rotary Youth Exchange Student Carla Hamoud Baldasso from Brazil arrived two weeks ago. She left for Sturgeon Bay for a 3-day orientation conference two days after her arrival. She is staying with the Tim Thorsen family for her first host family. Right after Christmas she will move to the Chip and Jane Bromann family. Her third host family has not yet been determined. Any Rotarian interested in being a host family should contact Inbound Coordinator Dorothy Skye.
Regarding Our Weekly Programs.... Rhinelander Rotary Program Chair, Monica Hilt, reminds club members of the need to report their program speakers for weekly meetings to her and the monthly coordinator no later than mid-month of the month prior to their scheduled weekly assignment. This allows for the speaker and their topic to be published in the monthly newsletter and the online calendar of events in a timely manner.
