Rotary Visioning Meeting

On Tuesday, February 23rd, more than 20 Rhinelander Rotarians met with three facilitators from the Lakeland Noon Club to go through a Rotary Visioning meeting. The process is relatively new in Wisconsin. This meeting was one of the first in District 6220.  Big thanks to VP Kyle Gruening for acting as liaison for the meeting. Kyle has taken the training to facilitate these meetings for other clubs. She was a big help in making our process a great success.  Our Club Day meeting this month will, in part, be a presentation to the club of the results of our visioning.

Gala

Tickets for our annual Gala on April 24th will be available soon!  Al Hofstetter will handle ticket sales.  Each Rotarian will be given four tickets at an upcoming meeting.  Two are for you to buy so that you and a guest may attend the Gala and the other two are for you to sell and invite two other people to attend.  Please turn in tickets and money to Al no later than April 12th.  It's a fun event with great food, please invite friends to join you for a delightful evening.  Donations are acceptable in lieu of dinner, please be sure your tickets are marked correctly.

Donor information sheets are available at our meetings for auction items. Please fill them out and return them to Kathy Shaltis or Heather Schallock with your auction items.  We want to be sure to acknowledge all donor contributions.  This will also simplify the process for next year.

Donations are still needed for silent and live auctions.  Let Heather Schallock know who you will contact and what item is being donated.  For a list of businesses people have signed up to contact and to see what has been donated so far, just check out the "2010 Gala Auction Items" in the "For Members" Section.  We ask that each Rotarian please contact two businesses as well as make your own donation.  No donation is too small.  Thank you to all who have assisted in this project!  We're making progress!

We still need a volunteer to assist this year and coordinate the Gala next year.  If you think that is too much, would you and another Rotarian be willing to do this together?

Rotary Youth Exchange

Andrew Kroll, one of our outbound RYE students for 2010/11, performed in a musical variety show in Chicago for a major Rotary Conference that included 350 Rotarians from around the world. Congratulations Andrew!

Both of our current outbound students, Luke Wegehaupt and Luke Lenard, continue to enjoy their outbound experiences in their host countries and will ultimately return to Rhinelander in June.

Interact Club

The Rhinelander High School Interact Club would like to thank all Rhinelander Rotarians for their support in contributing to the "We can change the world, your change will help" campaign. This fundraising effort was a major success that will allow for our RHS Interact students to take ownership in various club supported international projects.

Please consider additional support for the Interact Club by sponsoring a doughnut/juice day for an upcoming Thursday morning meeting.  $20.00 will cover the expense for our 25 club members. Please contact Rotarian Chris Lenard. Previous contributions were made by Tim Thorsen, John O'Melia and Chris Lenard. Thanks!

Do you have a volunteer opportunity for the Interact students?  Please contact Rotarian Chris Lenard.
