Rotary Vision
On Tuesday, February 23rd, 20 Rhinelander Rotarians met to consider the future of our club under the auspices of the Rotary Vision process. Thanks to all who participated. If you attended the March 15th lunch meeting, you heard Kyle Gruening give a preliminary report on the Vision process. Since then the President's Council, made up of the current President, past presidents and future presidents, has met to begin the task of turning the vision into an action plan for the club.
Big thanks to Kyle and to Gina Scheuer, who turned pages and pages of flip-chart paper into a workable document. Thanks as well to the committee working on an "Elevator Speech" for Rhinelander Rotary - Jim Brown, Corky McReynolds and Dan Kuzlik. And finally to the President's Council - Jim Brown, Bill Kingsbury, Chris Lenard, Pete Centner, Kyle Gruening (again), Tim Thorsen, and Mick Fiocchi.
Gala
Thanks to Chair Kathy Shaltis, Rotary Gala 2010 is shaping up to be the best ever. Let's make sure we get all of the tickets sold. That is the foundation of both the best possible income for the club, and, just as importantly, a fabulous evening! Please give your tickets and checks to Al Hoffstetter. If you can't attend the Gala, we encourage you to buy tickets on a donation-only basis.
Baskets that each table was assigned should be turned in at our Monday, April 5th meeting. In addition to the baskets, please remember each Rotarian is highly encouraged to donate one item and contact a business to make a donation request. Please check the list of auction items on our website. It is constantly growing, but we need everyone's help. Gala items can be dropped off at Northwoods State Bank or Newswatch 12. You can also give them to Kathy or Heather at our meetings.
Highway Clean-Up
The Spring Clean-Up date is set for Saturday, April 10th at 9am. Plan to meet at the Claridge, but please let Don Anklam know if you'd like to sign up. The Rhinelander Interact Club will be helping with the Highway G clean-up.
Interact Club
The Rhinelander Interact Club would like to thank Rotarians Kevin Jenkins, Maureen O'Melia and Reijo Huttunen for sponsoring a juice and doughnut day this past month. If you would like to sponsor a day in April or May please contact Rotarian Chris Lenard. The cost is $20.
Facebook
Our online presence is growing. Kevin Jenkins set our club up on Facebook. Just go to www.facebook.com and search for Rhinelander Rotary Club. All you have to do is click on "Request to Join" and Kevin will accept your request. Thanks to Kevin for doing this.
Rotary Youth Exchange
Luke Lenard, one of our current outbound students, is on spring break in South Africa, and has been treated to a week long vacation at Sun City, which is South Africa's version of Las Vegas. Mom and Dad are jealous!
