Washburn Trails/Perch Lake Project
At the October meeting, the board approved Rhinelander Rotary’s participation in the Washburn Trails/Perch Lake project. The project, which involves staining/sealing and installing paneling in the shelter and improving snowshoe/bike trails, was brought to our attention by a recent speaker, Guy Hansen, a member of Rhinelander Area Silent Sports Association.
A work day to stain and seal the lumber to be used in the Perch Lake shelter will be held this coming Wednesday, November 5th, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Forestry Shop near Townline Park off Highway K (Forest Loop). Guy advised that they can use additional sawhorses and wide brushes (shingle/shake brushes), and that water-based stain will be used.
Rotarians are invited and encouraged to help with this project.
